www.UnitedAirlines.com has weekend e-fares for last minute travel that usually extend for 2 weeks. This is not recommended for a scheduled class as there are no guarantees that your desired city will be available.
www.Hotels.com usually has great hotel deals searchable by location, amenities, and price.
In CA, the Super Shuttle is fairly economical and is also available in many states. The rates vary by state/airports. We have found them to be very dependable and timely as well as cost effective.
Some hotels offer free or low cost shuttle service. Sometimes the packages with air, car, and hotel are the best deal and can save a lot.
If you park at the airport, most companies such as www.WallyPark.com and www.USAirportparking.com have discount cards that are free. Frequent parkers usually earn free parking. Do a search online for parking companies near your airport; most offer discount coupons.

Your instructor can also usually suggest a nearby hotel.
Remember that you can deduct class and travel expenses (meals, transportation, parking, tips, hotel, cost of class and products) as a business expense so keep those receipts!
